The focus of the upcoming spring school sessions is critical thinking. Giving your young minds the habits, tools, and ways of thought that can lead them to the self-reliance of finding their own answers.
Week one will ask “What is right? ”Whereas week two begins questioning “What is happiness?”
Oftentimes what is “Right” is not always what is “Happy”, and what is “Happy” is not always what is “Right.”
Students will not be given the answers, instead they will be guided and encouraged to question what they see, while finding answers to their questions.
*Nuts Free
**Please note that the International Village shuttle bus service, which operated until last year, is no longer available.
If you wish to drop off or pick up your child directly at school, please use the nearby pay parking areas.
Parking in non-designated areas near the school or outside of the parking lots, as well as arriving by taxi directly to the school entrance, is strictly prohibited, as it may cause inconvenience to our neighbors.
Through the fable of Momotaro and the Three Little Pigs, students will aim to question the things around them. This session's focus is to allow the students a free and open learning environment in which they can begin to question the surrounding world all on their own!
We will dive into ideas such as good and evil, friendship and courage, and what is right? More importantly, how do humans decide what is right?
Our goal is to help the next generation be able to understand what is right, as well as the larger world around them through art.
Where Session one's focus was on “what is right?” session two aims to get children thinking critically about “what is happiness?” Through the fables of The Straw Millionaire and Hans in Luck.
As educators we strive to give our students the tools they need to find the answers, as the answers are ever changing and evolving. The students, with the materials and learning tools in hand, will be tasked with finding their own meaning of happiness, what makes us happy, and how we experience that happiness.
