Adventure Through Reading
HAYAMA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL WOULD LIKE TO SHARE THE JOY OF STORYTELLING WITH YOU DURING THE SPRING BREAK THIS YEAR. OUR THEMES ARE“HOP INTO SPRING" AND “EVERYBODY IS UNIQUE”. CHILDREN WILL HAVE FUN IN A CREATIVE ENVIRONMENT. EMPHASIS WILL BE PLACED ON EXPANDING CHILDREN’S VOCABULARY. THE TEACHERS WILL SHARE MANY WONDERFUL STORY BOOKS THAT ARE WIDELY USED IN THE UNITED STATES. THEY WILL ENGAGE IN ACTIVITIES BASED ON EACH BOOK.
THIS YEAR, OUR JUNIOR KINDER, SENIOR KINDER, AND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN WILL HAVE THE OPTION TO SELECT THE COURSE OF ACTIVITIES IN THE AFTERNOON.
For Kindergarten
Session1:Hop Into Spring!
We are welcoming spring! Children will explore and experience the wonderful changes of spring. With help from our selected books, art craft and projects the children will learn what spring is like and how this season affects our earth.

Session2:Everybody is Unique!
The children will be exploring diversity. We will be discussing what makes everyone different and what makes us all the same. The children will learn about valuing humans regardless of any differences and have a better understanding that being unique is what makes the world beautiful and amazing.

For Elementary School
THIS YEAR’S ELEMENTARY SPRING SCHOOL PROGRAM WILL INCLUDE A LOT OF SCIENCE BASED LESSONS WHERE STUDENTS WILL EXPLORE EGGS DURING THE FIRST WEEK AND THEN EXPERIMENT WITH COLORS DURING THE SECOND WEEK.
Session1:Egging Our Way Through Science
Excellent Adventures await those who are willing to experiment with eggs! Come join us as we grow egg crystals with science, investigate the wondrous properties of eggs and look at animal life cycles, with the books “After Fall” and “A Quiet Egg” and much more!

Session2:Exploration of Color Through Science
Just three colors make all colors! Children will explore the wonderful science behind this amazing fact with ”The Day the Crayons..” series of books as a base and get some hands on experience with how colors work with each other, in fun and amazing experiments.

Depending on the session a class may soon reach capacity. As soon as we reach the capacity, we will terminate the reception of that session, so please confirm to the school in advance when you want to apply.
